Product unavailable although website shows plenty

I checked on the website to see if product 473615 is available. The website showed 73 available but when I got there (40km), there were none. I was informed that the product was removed from the shelves due to some issue, and that they cannot update the website to reflect that. What is the use of a website if ee cannot trust it?
