Pricing of items

Recently bought some items from Builders for my mother, and very time we got to the checkout she was not able to claim her pensioner's discount, as these items was so-called "on promotion". Nowhere was it indicated that these items were on promotion, and it sound very much like an accounting trick. No wonder Masssmart's results are dismal, if this is the way the customer is viewed and treated,
