Poor Service - Black and Decker Plainer

I bought a B&D plainer from Builders Warehouse , Riverhorse Valley, Durban. I used the plainer 3 times, and it stopped working, and since it is still under warranty, I took it back. They tried everything not to honour the warranty. So 1st thing, I was told that because the cord was cut, the warranty no longer expires. No where could they show that rule in the T&C's. Therefore, I asked to speak to a manager. The manager came in, and tried the same excuse, from the cord being cut, to people using the tool for commercial use. What pathetic excuse. Then they tell me that I must take the plainer to springfield park to the supplier, and I refused as I have purchased it at Builders. So they phone the supplier and he comes up with more excuses. So I got irritated and asked for my money back, so the supplier said I must talk to the store, and slam the phone down in my ear.

So I agree that they can send it to the supplier. They phoned me back telling me that I must pay R196 for a new blade. I mean how on earth can a tin blade be the cause for the tool not to work. Basically, they are trying everything for me to pay for a defected tool.

This is poor service, and I want my money back, Very simple..!!

Hi Theuns

Thank you for your feedback.

I'm sorry you've got a faulty product.

This isn't the type of customer service we want you or any of our customer's to experience.

I've escalated this to store management for it to be looked into.
