Poor quality product and disgusting service

On the 26 June 2020 I Went to Rivonia Builders Warehouse to return a faulty GoldAir 3 panel heater that I had bought on the 27th May 2020.

It’s leaking gas which is extremely dangerous! I use one panel/bar for a max of 3 hours a day but a 9kg gas cylinder only lasts for 6 days!!

The returns clerk and her manager refused to give me a refund because I don’t have the heater’s box anymore!! I even said I will pay for the box and she rudely told me to go find a box because without she will not give me a refund! This was confirmed by her manager telephonically - whose name I have forgotten.

This was after I had been sent back and forth between the testing center and the returns office! The service is poor and the returns clerk’s attitude is disgusting to say the least!

To add, there was a heap of other gas heaters from the same brand that were returned by other customers inside the returns office. So there’s clearly an issue with the quality of the brand of heaters and the retailer (Builders)is well aware of this and they would rather hold on to red tape in stead of sorting out the quality issue with their supplier!!

I walker out and left the heater there! But I want my money!!

Hi Amanda,

Thanks for your feedback.

I'm really sorry to hear the above, none of our customers deserve this sort of journey. We always strive to give our customers great service and quality products, it is a concern to hear that you do not receive either.

Please allow us to have a look into this matter for you. We value your feedback and would like an opportunity to assist, kindly send the following details on a private reply and we'll make sure our team reviews and assists you with this matter:

- Invoice / Order Number
- Contact number
- Email Address
- The date you visited our branch

Furthermore, I need to add that gas heaters that use 9kg cylinders will only last between 9 - 12 hours peruse. It's difficult to measure the allowance by days as it all boils down to how long the user makes use of it in a linear time scale (hours; minutes, etc).

I really hope and trust we can work out a way forward. I don't want this to get in the way of our relationship, we value you as our loyal customer and we appreciate your support.

Thanks for sharing your concerns, looking forward to your private reply.

Regards,
Joshua
