Poor customer service and store doesn't carry guarantee on "Builders" products

On the 17th December, received the worst customer service ever at the Rivonia Builders Warehouse. I had an issue with a Builder's branded tap that I purchased a year ago which carries a 12 year guarantee. When taking the tap to the exact store from which I bought it I was first made to wait while the correct people to speak to were located after which I was told that there's nothing they can do as the supplier of the tap is was closed and I would have to wait for the new year to be contacted. The staff were not willing to test the tap and I was told that I should leave the tap fitted and wait to be contacted. When asked how I should use a tap that doesn't work I received nothing but blank stares. It is now a week into the new year and I have not been contacted. I have issues here: Firstly the lack of customer service and management skills with which I was approached. If that is the attitude customer's are treated with I will not be surprised when many more choose not to support Builders Warehouse. Secondly, the tap is in a box that is branded in bright yellow and black "Builders". What supplier is the staff waiting for? If the "Builders" store is not willing to carry the guarantee on a "Builders" product then Builders Warehouse should not be carrying their own brand.

I no longer see the value in purchasing any "Builders" branded products.
