I went to Builder's Warehouse today to order a kitchen which will be delivered (hopefully in three weeks time.
The lady I dealt with, Patricia was very efficient and she took me to the teller to effect the payment, +- R26.000-00.. As this amount exceeds my credit card limit, I decided to issue a cheque for the correct amount. When I mentioned that I was going to pay with a cheque, I noticed the suspicious attitude of the teller and then she called the supervisor who entered in contact with their credit controllers and, all of a sudden was requested to supply some information to the guy related to my past, since the day I was born.As I was paying for some goods which will only be delivered in three weeks time, they had ample time to clear the cheque and, obviously, this attitude blew my top. In other words,in view of this strange business attitude,am I still supposed to trust people? In any case, I found a way to settle the account (not with cheque) but I would like to leave a warning to prospective buyers, regarding payments by cheque even in situations where you only take possession of the goods in three weeks time.
Best regards,
