I went to the store on the 12th December to purchase a board to have it cut to spec, and to buy a few meters of bubble wrap. 1) The website states they charge R10 per meter x 1250mm, so I wanted a few meters. Then the salesman said they don’t sell by the meter, they don’t support cutting it there. Maybe I should try another builders or buy the full roll. So I decided to settle for a few smaller roll, then was told they only have 1 in stock. No further assistance was offered to find out when they will be getting or who has stock.

2) I had to pay for the board before they can cut it, so I paid for it first, only to be told by the cutter that they are too busy with a big order and it’ll only by done by tomorrow at 1pm. So I must come back tomorrow and it’ll be ready. I returned the following day at 4pm to collect. The cutter said they were still too busy and I should give him abit more time. So I left it and got a refund.

I would expect that type of service from a Builders Express, but never from a proper fully fledged store like Strubens Valley.

Very disappointing, not to mention a big waste of time and money from traveling for nothing!

I will avoid supporting them where ever I can!
