Online shop? More like online flop

I ordered an item - a Cam Africa Kitchen Unit and Sink (915 x 460) 416721 for R1890, plus delivery on builders wearhouse online shop. I paid and waited. 2 days later I get a phone message from a lady regarding the sale, she says not only are they out of stock but the range is discontinued. She leaves neither a phone number nor her name. 2 days later I get another call with the same info so I ask them to refund me. Ms Mouton advises that i need to come into the branch as they cant refund my credit card. I said that its not possible for me to do that as I work. Unfortunately thats the only option unless they credit my cart. I then ask if I can go to a buikders express shop which is close to me. No is the answer.... What kind of online store firstly sells stock they dont have and secondly cant refund you????? Ive since checked their website and the item still shows its in stock at lots of branches. I found a similar item at a small hardware store for R1400 so im happy about that BUT IM STILL WAITING FOR MY MONEY BACK.

This is the reponse regarding getting my money back for an item out of stock (which shouldnt be on sale if there is no stock). "For the refund to be processed on Head office, we need the customer proof of banking details letter or Bank statement and the ID copy. Or the customer has the option of going to any Builders store and give them his Builders Online account number and they can refund cash immediately." So if I do an online purchase for an item overseas the same logic applies. How ridiculous. They didnt need a copy of my ID for me to make the purchase!!!!!! A large company obviously feels they can stuff customers around.
