no response re raw deal

At the beginning of September I lodged a complaint via Builders Warehouses’ webpage regarding misrepresentation by one of their staff members on the 28 th of August @ their Zambezi branch to which I have yet to receive a response.

Basically on the above mentioned date I was in the market for a pool pump and after battling to find help as most of them were relaxing on your garden furniture waiting for closing time- must have been a busy day; I was shown a Bluechem pool pump displayed in bulk on a gondola end.

I asked:”Is it on promotion ? No was the reply. Automatically I queried:”Is it going on promotion?” No was his answer. So I bought it for R2630 not knowing when I will be in the area again as I live 150km away in Marble Hall.

Because I hadn’t received a response from their customer care I took the initiative on the weekend of the 11th of September and try strike a deal with the store directly and lugged the brand new in the box pump and cash slip with me to Johannesburg. On the morning of that Sunday I called the store concerned and spoke to Tebogo Sentle who referred to his superior Vincent Seoketsa in the background; the response was vague and made no sense and I suggested that he refer the matter to the store manager to consider making a refund on the original amount and I’d purchase the machine on the promotional price and that I needed to buy lots of things from them.

I did not get a call from Johan Pelser but was told by Tebogo Sentle – no deal without a valid reason and when I told him that I would take this matter further and that I will be shopping at the Glen Eagles branch instead (which I did) he started offering incentives like vouchers and discounts. From someone who couldn’t even give me a refund.

Good morning Winston,
Thank you for the feedback.
Allow me to apologize for the poor service experienced at our Zambezi store. This is definitely not the type of experience, we want our customers to have. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention in order to address and resolve the matter for you. As a business we remain committed to ensuring that you, our valued ustomer, have an exceptional shopping experience in store or when calling our store. We will ensure that your feedback is taken to the relevant departmental manager and the poor work is addressed.
Kind regards,
Bronwynne Nel
