Misleading Price Advertising and Poor Customer service

On the 02/05/2022 at about 10H22,I was in Builder Superstore Mangaung based in the Twin City Mall in Heidedal. I was looking for a Devils Fork gate.I saw one on the sales floor and was not sure about the price on the gate.I saw one of the staff members instore and asked him is this the correct price and he said yes he even went to the tillpoint to confirm the price and came back to me and said to me yes the price is correct.

I said can I please get one he said I must first pay for it at the tillpoint,then the guys at the back will take the gate for me out,I said thank you.I went to the tillpoint and paid in full the price I saw on the gate.A few minutes thereafter the same staff member came to me and said to me that unfortunately that price is not correct and he said it is R1500.00 and not the R1830.00 that I saw,and told me to pay in the difference. I said No I wont do that because that is the price that I saw and you even confirmed it.He said unfortunately it does not work like this.After long words exchanging between him and me I said if thats the case I would like to speak to the Manager, however the Manager was not on duty,and the person that he went to fetch at the back just went to the till and spoke to the cashier and punched in numbers,she never introduced herself to me and did not even greet me.

The struggled for about 20 minutes to override the price and the staff member came to me and said they struggle to override the price and they cant get hold of the Manager.He asked me again to pay in the difference I said to him why should I pay for their mistake.He insisted that I at least pay R200.00,after taking inconsideration that I specifically got people to install my gate today because its the only day they are available,I decided to pay in the difference. But I have to admit I was totally dissapointed and dissatisfied with the entire manner in which the situation has been dealt with and how I was treated,and I must admit I buy most of my stuff at Builders because they are the closest situated where I reside.They have zero customers service ethic and take customer for granted.
