Loadshedding, makes life very difficult for pensioners.

On 09 November 2022 I purchased an inverter with a battery which was R5750.00the package worked well until +- the end of June 2023. It then made a strange noise and was no longer operational. The Battery is very heavy and I had to wait until August when my son visited from Australia to return the machine and battery back to Builders Warehouse. The staff were very helpful and advised that there would be a turnaround of 21 days. I was contacted within 21 days and advised to collect the returned goods. As I am a geriatric I had to wait again for help to get the battery into my home, I then contacted an electrician to help connect, all went well until the next loadshedding, the light on the inverter was off. I returned the apparatus in the original boxes to Builders Warehouse, where Keabetzwe, Petunia, and Cliff were very helpful, Lesego the electrical consultant on the other hand was somewhat dismissive stating that I was told when purchasing that the warranty was only three months, this is not correct, I would never have purchased an Item for R5750.00 with only a three-month warranty, when you are 80years old this is a loss which I am certainly unable to afford. The crux of the matter is I am now in possession of an inverter that works but was advised by the electrical consultant to buy another battery the cheapest being R3200.00 but should preferably purchase a lithium battery for R8000.00.
