Inferior ladder sold

On the 9th of November 2023 I bought a Steadystep multistep latter from Builders Warehouse at Atterbury Valuemart. I used the ladder once. On the 14th I used it again. When I was at the top, the ladder buckled on the side and I fell to the ground. The end result was a torn ligament in my right ankle. I spent 6 weeks in a moonboot and had a bunch of medical costs. Since I couldn’t drive, I also couldn’t take the ladder to builders. I believe the ladder was of inferior quality. I am not close to the weight limit of the ladder and it was brand new and shouldn’t have buckled during use. I found articles online of similar ladders being recalled by other retailers (https://www.guzzle.co.za/retailtalk/post/makro-and-game-recall-mainstay-and-terra-firma-mul/) because of safety concerns. I logged a complaint on the Builders website about a week ago, but never even got a reply.
