Im done with builders, rather go to BuCo or Brights

Wow, with over 2700 one star reviews it’s a wonder people still shop there. Let me add to the misery that is Builders Warehouse. I went to Builders Somerset West today to buy a Zodiac MX8 which just happens to be on special. After taking the display item to the counter and asking for one. I was kindly informed that there is no stock and by the way this is a discontinued item. Fair enough, but then why is it on display one would ask? Anyway, I was then told after looking on "the system" that there is one in stock in N1 City. So 50km and 40min later I arrive at N1 City. I get the display unit and take to the counter and ask for the one in stock. No says the attendant, there is no stock. Again, why is the display unit on the shelf if there is no stock and worse, why have I travelled out here to find this out. Mr Meyer then gets called to the party who then tries to spin me a story about how the display unit is the 1 item in stock. Now I’m no retail expert but even I’m not dumb enough to believe display units are counted as stock. Anyway, now that I’m there, I’ll buy the display unit that has most likely been on that same shelf for the last two years and probably dropped a few times and tampered with in all manner while being inspected. I ask Mr Meyer (store manager I must assume) to please get the bits for it. Nope, sorry about that, no box, 4 of 6 pipes only and no other fittings with this. Okay, I only really need the unit, I have all the other bits, how much I ask? Full Price is the reply…..??? This is not the first time I’ve had challenges at Builders but this is the experience that sealed the deal to never to set Builders again. I have been going to BuCo and the staff are friendlier, better trained and more often than not the item I buy is cheaper than at Builders.
