False advertising

Long story short, I bought a heater on Friday which I had to return on Saturday because I believe it was defective. According to the website, the one I wanted was out of stock but available for order, so I placed the order and paid.

I was deeply disappointed when I got a call today to say that the supplier stated that I can’t have the one I purchased since it’s discontinued, but can have the newer model at approximately R1800, this is nearly double. The person who called was incredibly helpful, and said he would speak to his manager regarding my discontent. He’s just called to say they can give it to me at R1650. I feel this is disgusting that you place discontinued items on your website, and then try to con customers into buying more expensive items. It amounts to false advertising.

Order number ********** 291, reference number a ********** 291. You shouldn’t make people pay for things you can’t provide, and should this happen you should be able to come up with a decent alternative. The fact that the item was discontinued was your error, not mine.
