Extremely bad service at cashier

To whom it may concern

I visited your Durban builders warehouse store in Nandi drive and I needed to buy a cool drink , when I came to cash up at the teller, I did inform the lady at the register that I have an issue with my card and the chip is troubling, I did order a new card which is on back order , and I was told by my bank that they can swipe the card , the casher refused and she called the manager who was just walking passed (Mervyn)

He (Mervyn) took the side of the cashier and said that they are not allowed to swipe a chip card, I’m the customer and I mentioned that there’s an issue with the card and my bank said I should swipe this card

He’s response was : your bank told you that but didn’t inform us , this is really bull**** it’s like the store is living in the past and has no recall of how cards and technology works

I was straight out refused , and your store lost a sale, due to the ignorance of your manager and cashier , there is no document or notice saying that you do not swipe chip cards

I look forward to your reply

**********
********** 194

**********

Hi Dushandren,

Thank you for your feedback.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

This isn't the type of customer service we want you to receive.

I've escalated this to store management for it to be looked into and for preventative measures to be put in place.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us and I apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards,

Tristan Kelly
