Empty apologies and crocodile tears from Builders Warehouse
On 21 November I complained about an adverti*****t in Builders Warehouse's online catalogue of a Ryobi cordless hedge trimmer in which no mention is made that the item comes without a battery and charger. Only when you receive the item, you see a notice on the box that a battery and charger has to be added for more than what you've already paid. Clearly, this information, or simply the words "trimmer body only"should be added to the advertising copy. Kurt from Builders immediately apologised "sincerely", adding that he had "highlighted" the matter with his team. Should I be surprised that nothing has changed in their ad since then? If misleading advertising is not *******, at least it's dishonest. By the way, a Stihl cordless hedge trimmer costs R1595, complete with battery and charger.
