Disgusting treatment is putting it mildly
In addition to various purchases made from BWH Strubensvalley on various dates including 26/07/2021 and 11/08/2021 in the amounts of R18098.00 and R4534.00 respectively, on Friday 03/09/2021, I made another purchase from BWH Strubensvalley in the amount of R4166.00 for paint, primer and paint accessories. I explained to the consultant the paint colour I am interested in and we walked around the paint area where I pointed out the shade of grey colour. He then recommended Powerseal Roof Dualcote in Grey colour and explained all the pros associated with the paint, example that it was washable, you can paint a variety of surface areas, no mixing is required and that it was even lighter then the colour I showed him. Since I was not the expert and trusted the consultant, I purchased the paint he recommended. On 04/09/2021, the paint was app**** to one room in the house and it was a very very dark colour and clearly not the colour I wanted. The morning of 05/09/2021, the colour appeared even darker, so much so that I had to switch on the light to see inside the room. I then returned to BWH on 05/09/2021, with the one used 20L of paint (a little more then a quarter used) and the two unopened ones. After many hassles, cross questioning and explaining to Ewan Le Roux that they can even look at their camera footage which will show the entire events that took place, he eventually informed me that they will refund the amount of the 3 tins of paint. I was then also told that the colour I selected will be mixed and I needed to wait. After waiting for a while close to the tills for the paint and to make payment of the now more expensive paint, I was told that I needed to pay for the paint first prior to mixing. I was then very upset at this point because this was not explained to me from the beginning and now I needed to wait even longer until they complete the mixing. I then spoke to Ewan Le Roux again to explain my frustration. He hardly gave me an opportunity to speak and informed me that "it was the procedure with all customers". I explained to him that I was not just any ordinary customer who walked in to purchase some paint. I paid someone to paint the inside of my house for the day, had to return to the shop using my petrol and my time. His response was that I was very lucky that they are refunding the full amount for the paint since I already used some of the paint. At no point did he apologise for the inconvenience caused and treated me like I was nothing more then a piece of **** who was trying to ***** R2544.00 from BWH, even after I explained to him that in the past two months alone I have made thousands of rands in purchases. His response was that he cannot confirm that what I am saying is true and that anyone can make such a statement. I am truly disgusted by his behaviour, the insulting way in which I was treated. I am absolutely shocked that BWH employs individuals of his calibre. Shocking to say the least.
