Choose carefully what day's to shop at Builders
This is a 2 part complaint, seeing as today was not the day I should have gone into one of your stores. If you wouldn't mind telling me on what days I can expect to get a safe, customer orientated experience, I can then plan my day's accordingly. Firstly, I implore the staff member with his trolley loaded to capacity with large white melamine boards to actually run me over while looking me directly in the eye. But this time, to do a good job of it without me getting out of the way hurriedly like I had to do today or face being either flattened, or wedged between a counter and a stock trolley. Because when it does happen, I am going to wipe the floor with you. You are going to face the biggest civil claim you have ever had, and part of my demand will be that the staff member concerned is dismissed immediately, and made permanently unemployable. I am fully aware that your stores are DIY/hardware/handyman orientated and common sense and care should prevail when in one of them, but, when I am standing at a counter with a narrow escape route to get out of harms way, and an arrogant, smart ass staff member looks me in the eye and continues to push his fully laden trolley with large white melamine boards towards me, that is a deliberate action, not an accidental miscalculation. There is nowhere for me to go - either I jump on top of the paint department counter or I let the trolley hit me. Then still say to me "I won't run over you", you are definitely employing the wrong staff, or there is no discipline in your stores. Either way, I will deal with you and your staff member in a way guaranteed to leave a lasting expensive memory. I had 2 people with me in the store at the time, so there are 3 different view angles of exactly what transpired. But then to top it all, walk behind us when we leave the store, stand outside the entrance and glare at me when I get into my vehicle - you are just begging for trouble. Not to worry, I know who you are, and your face I won't forget. My second complaint - how can you possibly expect your staff to do their jobs if they don't have the right tools or equipment? Now I'm probably going to be told, "but they DO have", or, "why don't they ask for them" or some similar excuse in an effort to shift the blame on who is actually responsible. The point is this; I couldn't care less, I'm not on your payroll. The paint department has not one single brush out card, nor the tools to even offer this service. Paint cans are opened with an old worn out sc****r, there is no dryer to speed up the brush out process. What is going on here? Seeing as they witnessed the whole trolley fiasco, they sheepishly told me they can't help me with paint either because, (according to them) they have been asking for brush out cards, and tools and everything else they need to provide a proper paint service, but it has all fallen on deaf ears. Nobody has done anything. Is the manager not communicating or doing daily inspections of the WHOLE store? Well....that's interesting, what a surprise, the same "its not my problem" and the usual lazy, stupid South African way, but yet we'll complain bitterly on how bad business is, and how targets aren't being met, and blame it on the economy or whatever else is the flavour of the day. Last time I looked, when someone needs something to do their job and that job involves providing a service to a client, someone takes responsibility and gets it done. IMMEDIATELY. Again, I don't know if the paint dept staff are lying and didn't feel like doing a brush out because I had a run-in with one of their colleagues, so they came up with all this ******* just to get rid of or to spite me, or they genuinely do not have what they need. I couldn't care less either, it's not my problematic store to fix. But I'll tell you this much - I will be back in the same store next week Tuesday, and I am going to ask for another brush out. And all the tools had better be there so that this can take place in a professional, well trained manner. Because if they are not, I am going to be walking into your head office unannounced, and there is going to be an in-depth discussion held regarding the trolley incident and what I perceive to be blatant ************ by one of your staff (remember, I have enough witnesses to the event), as well as the pathetic state of affairs of this particular store's paint department and why it was even allowed to get to this point.
