Charged Twice and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have recently moved into a new home and was excited to use Builders Warehouse for all my DIY goods.

On Tuesday 02.08.16, I visited Builders twice. Once spending nearly R500 and the second time spending R700.

The second time is when this mess began.

I was at the till trying to pay for my goods when the teller told me my card had been declined. I found this very weird and thought it could possibly be a machine error but checked my banking app anyway.

It clearly showed on my banking app that my funds had been deducted for this purchase.

I asked to speak to a Manager and was taken to a woman who told me I must just ignore it because it wasn't a real charge and it will fall away. I I think what she meant to say was it was an Authorization. She kept telling me to 'just ignore it'. I asked her if she thought that it's fair for someone to pay nearly R1400 for a purchase of nearly R700. Once again I was told to ignore it so I asked for another manager.

Next another manager by the name of Marco comes out and helps to set my mind at ease that it's an authorization and he guarantees me that it will be back in my account within 1 hour. The next day I wake up and the money isn't back in my account. I gave it one more day until I called the store. At this point I was told Marco was in a meeting. He contacted me back and asked me to email him the charges and offered me a R250 voucher as he stated this was not my fault and I shouldn't have to be dealing with it.

I emailed Marco as discussed and didn't get an email back so I send another email asking for him to respond letting me know that the email had gone through, to this email I received an automatic response stating that Marco is on vacation and won't be back until whenever.

Its now Saturday 06 August 2016, my money is still not back in my account and now I am beyond furious. This shouldn't be the customers problem and if you know that you have messed up, take some sort of responsibility and don't put your customers through this. I am disgusted with the level of customer service I received!

Hi Stacey
Thank you for your feedback.
I'm sorry your recent visit wasn't a pleasant one.
This isn't the type of customer service we want you or any of our customer's to experience.
I've escalated this to store management for it to be looked into and for preventative measures to be put in place.
Thanks again for taking the time to contact us and I apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Regards,
Bronwynne Nel

Thanks for the response Bronwynne but the fact that I STILL don't have my money back is mind blowing and quite frankly a sorry is not enough. Please keep me in the loop as to where my money is and when it will be in my account because this has wasted far too much of my time on something that should of been dealt with by the store immediately. Now I know that this is not your fault and therefor this is not directed at you, I just need this sorted out please. Once again thank you for your response.
