Builders Wharehouse customer service is a joke
I was looking for an angle grinder, and they had a decent deal on a Bosch GWS750. Only problem is my local store didn't have it. So I went online to purchase, found a store that had it approx 50km from me.
Put that and some other items in the cart, but when trying to purchase it, I kept getting an error on their webpage. Now I'm pretty tech and IT savvy so I was sure the issue wasn't on my end. Emailed the error code that popped up on their website to them.
Next morning I got an email saying the items in my cart was waiting for me, so I reckoned they resolved their IT issues. But when I opened the link from the email the grinder just magically disappeared out of my cart. I phoned them and got told the item was discontinued, however Bosch themselves told me they can order stock in for that item.
3 days later I get an email from Builders saying next time I use their site I need to clear my browser history first.
I'm not sure if that's an excuse, an attempt at joke or their solution. If it's an excuse it doesn't make sense, if it's a joke, it would be more appropriate if the person on the other end knew me, so I think this is their attempt at a solution.
Now pardon my sarcasm here, but to everyone wanting to use Builders website to purchase something, remember to clear your browsing history before using their site otherwise their site might not work.
PS. on all of these things I have screenshots to prove just how inept their online shopping service is. It's sad really because I think South Africa does need a proper hardware solution for the DIY'r. And from personal experience, I'd rather just go to AgriMark, or purchase from other hardware suppliers online, purely for the reason that I can't trust their services both in store or online.
