Builders Warehouse putting known faulty stock back on the floor to sell

20/06/2023 I went to Builders Warehouse in N1 City, Cape Town and purchased an Alva GH312 heater. After opening the product at home, I found that 2 of the 4 nuts to secure the wheels to the base was missing, as well as 2 self taping *****s that are used to secure the metal band to hold the gas cylinder in place. I returned the product to the store to exchange and found the same issue with another box, being that assembly parts are missing.

The staff first tried to pass it off as manufacturer does not supply the assembly parts, and then I questioned them to why the assembly instructions say with the supp**** parts and also why they only gave 2 of the 4 nuts required? Then they changed their response to that it is a manufacturer issue and that they will ask them why it was not supp**** correctly.

I was there to purchase a gas heater, but had to settle for a refund as I believe all those boxes are incorrect. The note that was made on refund is that stock is no longer required, not that the product is faulty due to incomplete assembly parts. The manager will not be aware of the issue, as it was incorrectly captured on the system.

The worst part of all is that in front of me they just closed up the boxes and put it back on the floor to sell to someone else. They should have removed all faulty stock and returned to the manufacturer to be rectified. How many times have they done this with other products?

In any case, they have lost 4 sales from today with me, and I will go to their competition and make my purchases there.
