Builders Warehouse - poor customer service and online experience

I placed an online on 18/03/2025 and called the next day to confirm when would be delivered. The call centre couldn't confirm an exact date but indicated that it would be by 24/03/2025. I went into one of their stores later in the week where they confirmed that the order was scheduled to be delivered on 24/03/2025, but could not confirm the time of the delivery. I called the relevant store on 24/03/2025 to confirm that the order would be delivered that day. The dispatch department confirmed that it would be delivered but could not confirm as there were other deliveries scheduled for that day. He said that the delivery would probably be done after 12h00. When I didn't hear from them by 13h00 I called again to see what the hold up was. i was told that the store was waiting for their truck to return from a delivery and then my order would be delivered. Between 15h00 and 16h00 I received a call from the store informing me that they had a problem printing some of the documents and therefore they couldn't release the order. They then informed me that they could see that there was an error as my account indicated that my credit limit was exceeded (I have never had an account at Builders and paid in during the online ordering process - in effect I paid cash for my order).

As I was told multiple times that the order would be delivered by 24/03/2025 I had arranged with my builder to have his entire crew available for me and hired equipment that would be needed.

Very poor experience at Builders Warehouse - I was promised return calls from the manager which never materialised!!!
