Builders Warehouse - poor attitude when shelf pricing incorrect

Went to Builders in Fourways today to buy roof paint a couple of paint brushes, and a few other items. Went to the toll with a trolley of stuff, probably a R1000 - R2000 sale. First item through a paint brush marked a paint brush marked R90 on the shelf us scanned at R198? When I queried it, was taken back to the shelf, showed the attendant the price on the shelf with an arrow pointing directly to the item, he basically said it meant nothing that the price was pointing to the item, it related to another item. The manager then came along, did not dispute the fact of incorrect pricing, but insisted I still pay R198, but offered me 10l of cheap unwanted paint for free? ( obviously a promotional item they didn't pay for) I refused to accept it, left the store on principal, trolley still full at the cashier. Won't be going back to Builders in a rush. They could have admitted their error, corrected the shelf, which did not seem to really concern them, and all would be fine.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your feedback.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

This isn't the type of customer service we want you to receive.

I've escalated this to store management for it to be looked into and for preventative measures to be put in place.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us and I apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards,

Bronwynne Nel
