Builders Warehouse Online Shop
I know you guys are very oblivious to these reviews or, quite likely, just do not care to read them, but here goes.
I had the lovely, lovely opportunity of dealing with both the Kempton Park and the Boksburg North Rand Rd. branches. Massive, massive infrastructure and stock (a ****** good thing), very helpful staff (another ****** good thing), but they are crushingly incapable. I bought a Bosch KGN56VI30U fridge-freezer on the 25th Nov. online and opted to get delivery from my nearest in Kempton Park as they had the literal one in stock (they do not mention that it is the floor display, but I will give them that flop, it happens to the best of us). Soon after, I discovered that they wanted to sell me the floor demo and I thought let me rather cancel the order and save a few grand by negotiating a price since there is now a serious shortage of Bosch appliances and I cannot afford to wait a few more months. Boy was I wrong. I could accept the deep scratches as they were somewhat fixable with some elbow grease, but my people had other ideas. They had the nerve to offer not a cent lower than a brand new, sealed unit to the grand sum of R12 000. Njani?, I thought, I obviously declined that generous offer and opted for another online purchase with delivery set from North Rand, Boksburg and they quoted me a delivery date for the 29th Nov. Not too bad. Well, the 29th comes and goes and no sign of my new, shiny fridge. Njani?, I ask myself again. Check status of order, et voila, order cancelled and moved out to the 3rd Dec. Me and my abnormally large stock of chicken and beef were not expecting that, no, no, no, señora and señoritas. All we were expecting was the new, bigger fridge, but I will admit, I got too presumptuous. Presumptuous that a big a*s company like Builders' Warehouse would have the decency to tell me that not only would they not be able to fulfil an order, but they, too, would be pulling a Kempton Park branch move and try to give me a floor unit for a, you guessed it, a thick, full, girthy amount of R12 000 (minus the 15% you get on your 1st online purchase). I was starting to feel like the **** they were taking me for now. I called them and asked what exactly was going on. Only then did they offer an apology that they did not have stock and I would need to go to their store at my expense and see if we can work out a deal. Off to the East Rand went I and, I will admit, for a floor unit, it looked immaculate. We agreed on a ''princely sum'' of 10% and went about my merry way. As promised, they delivered the following day and for that, I will give them 1 kudo. Guess what, I also had to keep reminding them of the 10% credit for 2 days. They did eventually refund it a few moments ago.
The take away from this, Builders' Warehouse, is that a customer should have to beg for a product that they paid for. It is a legally binding contract entered into and you stand to lose more if you do not honour it. If I were somebody else, I would have demanded a full 50% off for all the inconvenience and sheer drama I had to endure from you. All I am saying is, sort yourself out and never think you are too big to fall, because no one is (looking at you, Edgars). I was planning to purchase a matching series Bosch gas stove, but I will take my business elsewhere. I hope your actions never catch up to you, guys and I am not being sarcastic TL,DR - Even the tldr will be too long to read, Builders, stop with your celebrity tendencies and be transparent and up your communication skills, or if you cannot do that, get Takealot as your vendor for your online store and watch business spike. No need to thank me. THE FRIDGE IS A DAMN WONDER, just in case you were wondering
