Builder's Warehouse, no go.
I have been a huge fan of Builders, The variety, accessibility, availability of stock, etc. excites me.
However, since the introduction of the Builders card, my misery started, as I have found that it serves no purpose and is filled with empty promises, and is an inconvenience to shoppers.
I was requested by a very friendly cashier to apply for a card, which I did after my purchase.
The even friendlier assistant at the kiosk issued my card and I was advised that I could claim a 10% discount on my next first purchase using my new card,
I went back a week later and claimed the discount but was advised that it has been canceled and is not available anymore, but that I can still claim a 10% discount for my birthday.
Today, on my birthday, I returned for a further purchase and claimed my promised 10% discount. I was merely told that the items that I wished to purchase were not listed "online" and that she cannot assist me, even though they had bar-code stickers on them.
A Manager was called, and it was reaffirmed that I cannot claim the benefit. The kiosk assistant advised the Manager that I was not happy and that I am taking my business elsewhere, and they just acknowledged my comment and let me go.
Needless to say, I went down the road to Chaimberlain's and was met by friendly, efficient, and proper customer service. They really go the extra mile to serve a customer. It was a wow experience.
I will never go to, or refer anybody, to Builders Warehouse again, ever.
To date, I have not received any benefit from this card and will continue shopping hassle-free elsewhere.
If customer retention is even in their mission, they have failed dismally.
