I bought an Elba gas heater two weeks back and the heater was not igniting. Two days later, on the 10th of April I returned the heater in its packaging. Upon my arrival there were 6 more customers returning same brand heaters but different models. I exchanged the heater with a same brand and same model as I thought the problem was just with that only heater. I asked that they test the heater. It was tested and it ignited and I took it.

Two days later I wanted to use the heater and it didn't work. I returned it today the 17th of April and they tested it and it worked at the store. I went back home with it and it worked for 30 minutes and then it went off on its own. I then returned it again same day the 17th of April, this time without packaging. I did not have the packaging anymore because I don't have space to keep boxes for long. I also did not think the heater will have any issues as it had been tested. My opinion here is that these heaters have a problem with the ignition button, sometimes they ignite and sometimes they don't and it goes off anytime which I think is very dangerous. You just can't have a gas heater that goes off while the cylinder is turned on.. that is a killer heater!!!!!!!! Someone can die out of this.

My issue here is that why Builder is selling poor dangerous heaters. Other issue is poor service and attitude I got from Jacob Chauke (Safety manager) who told me to go get a box I do not have. I did not buy a box I just want a working heater. This can be dealt with in a better manner. If the product was working I did not have to do all 3 trips for one heater.

They refused to take it back, and I took a video while all this was happening. I read the return policy at the back of my slip and it said nothing about returning the product in a box. I think this should have been added in the return policy on the slip. They refuse to refund or replace the heater for a different brand. I need the heater but the one that works. I am now home and in my car is a heater I bought for R2199 that I can't use.

This is nonsense!!!!
