Builders Warehouse: I want my money back.
I purchased an electric trimmer (Trimtech) from Builders Kwathema; I only used it once before returning it since there was smoke coming out. They refused to return their equipment and refund my money so I could purchase another one. I was promised that they would return the machine to the supplier, but the supplier (Trimtech) wants me to pay for a machine that I had barely used. They came up with a slew of stories about how the machine was not used properly, and how it was utilised well.
Why should I pay twice for an equipment that was not even used to that extend? We stopped operating the machine as soon as we saw smoke coming from it. In which not even a large section of grass mowing was covered.
Builders Kwathema is where I purchased the machine, but I have to deal with the supplier? I want my money returned because I was de*****ed as a consumer.

The safety guard was not used at all during trimming. It is still in the packaging along with the *****s. The safety guard serves 2 purposes. One is safety for the user and second is to cut the line to size. It has a blade on the end that cuts the trimmer line to the required size its designed for. When there is nothing to cut the trimmer line to size it extends when tapped. The longer it becomes, the more the motor strains to keep it in balance. This strain damages the motor as in this case.This is not a factory fault and per non warranty clauses 7 and 18 in the operator’s manual will not be repaired under warranty. JF
