BUILDERS WAREHOUSE!!!!!!!
I saw a hob and oven special at Builders while I was searching for hobs and ovens. I tried calling their number but I got no answer. I purchased a gas hob and electric oven online from Builders Warehouse on that Sunday, 03 May 2020. This, after the LAST small plate on my stove just packed up! On Monday, 4th May, I called the numbers I could find for them and EVENTUALLY ended up speaking to someone at the Northgate branch. I told him I purchased the item but I needed it URGENT since I didn't have anything to cook on and asked if the DELIVERY DATE of 23 May could be scheduled for sooner. I was told that even if they had stock or whichever branch had stock, I would not be able to take delivery of it because it is NOT an ESSENTIAL ITEM!!! REALLY???? Firstly, being able to prepare food for your family is deemed NON ESSENTIAL???? Secondly, WHY, like every other company selling online, was the NON ESSENTIAL items not blocked???? Why did it allow me to purchase the item without a warning of it not being essential? (As stupid as that may sound!) NOW, apparently NO branch has stock .... AND if there is stoack somewhere, there is a looooooooong form that needs to be completed since it is a NON ESSENTIAL item.... I DON'T CARE how long the form is, FIND the stock or give my money bac**** and the gentlemen (two, let me add) are BOTH off for the week after assuring me they will find stock and get back to me before the end of business yesterday!! So now I wait,...... for the lady who said she will contact them and call me back with an update! HA!

As a business, we want you to have the best service and stock availability of all products you order online. If there's no stock, lead times will be advised online prior to payment. Due to the recent level 4 restrictions as enforced by our government, we can't sell or deliver stock to any of our customers without an affidavit.
I will follow this up with our team to ensure we do our best to get stock for you prior to the 23 May. This lead time is as a result of stock availability, hopefully restrictions will no longer be an issue by the time we get it for you. Until then, the form will be required once we get it.

I called in and CANCELLED the order! That was Tuesday, it's Friday today. I was assured by the lady I spoke to that she would have their credit dept return my funds. Hey, guess what?! NO CREDIT! ,.....so I called to inquire and was told that I had to come in to the store to be refunded in CASH!!! WHAT? Firstly, WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO THE FUNDS HAD I NOT CALLED...bearing in mind that they HAVE my contact details? Secondly, I have to collect a wad of cash only to have the bank charge me to deposit it into my account???.....BTW, this was a Mother's Day gift to me from my daughter! I WILL NOT,..I repeat, I WILL NOT ALLOW HER OUT OF HER HOUSE WITH HER TODDLER and put themselves at risk of contracting this virus! HOW DARE you?...how dare you suggest ANYONE have to put themselves at risk because of *********** "return policies"? I was told that I should send a bank statement and a copy of her ID to the branch and they would send it to "Head Office to process and this will take a while!" You can give me cash but you can't credit my account? I attached the necessary documentation on an email to them with the request that this be done by Wednesday, latest,.......or I WILL TAKE THIS TO THE MEDIA!
