Beware of clearance items!

Hi,<br> I recently purchased a Migwelder that was at the clearance section of the store, a week later decided to check and make sure the welder is prepped for a job the next day only to find it is non functional. I then took the welder back which was exactly a week after I bought the welder and never used at all only to be told that the welder needed to be sent back to the supplier for repair or I could accept a refund. I obviously did not want the refund as I bought the welder at a good price and now I had to wait 2 weeks to have it repaired which to me seemed unreasonable as I purchased the unit under the impression that it was a working unit.<br> After speaking to the Manager, The Area Manager and even their head office I was told that this was all they could do however a branch not far from the store had stock of this welder but they were not willing to go the extra mile to sort out this problem. Their argument was that this was basically a used item and they could replace with a new item.<br> If only I knew or they had a sign saying that this was a used and risky purchase I would never have purchased this from them, but again just shows you that you need to support your smaller stores
