Belittled client

I will never and I mean never use Builders Warehouse in Tableview ever again.

I arrive at the store approximately 3-4pm on the 22/6/18.

I buy the usual Fluorescent Duct tape. Neon Yellow, Pink and Oranges. I'm a spray painter and I'm the only person I know that uses this tape from Builders to mask up my work. Other big shops usually use the usual cheap masking tape. I recommended it to people in my circle but never will I do that again after yesterday.

So I'm at the cashier waiting for her to check the price on the Orange tape because it is for some unknown reason more expensive than the Pink and Yellow. The short haired manageress on duty had no interest in assisting and went back to her girly gossip at the front of the store. All she said was, the other stuff was on promotion that's why the Orange tape is more expensive.

That's not my grievance though.

This is...

So as I'm standing at the pay point, this female customer paying at the till point reckons to the exact same manageress that was assisting her that I freak her out and made it disrespectfully known by raising her voice loud enough. The manageress participates and goes on to add her 2cents. And there they are discussing how I (also what I would like to consider, an equal Builders Warehouse client) freak them out. All I wore was an earring in my right ear, hair up in a bun, and my usual Adidas Gazelles and a torn by the knees denim and a hoody. I don't sport any tattoos, not that any of this should justify them noticeably looking at me and pointing out how I freak them out. I felt so belittled. Now I know what the Hunchback of Notre Dame felt when people poked at him in public.

I wanted to be rude and pass an insult back, but why should I scoop down to the levels of the ******** and small mindedness of others.

Eventually the lady in black leaves, the said manageress then goes from the pay point next no me to the front counter and laughs from where she was standing to go and tell her cronies at the info desk and then having a good skinner giggle about this customer(me) that freaked her out.

She is average in height, short hair, coloured like myself with not even a good day sir or any professional etiquette. Just because you're the longest standing worker, that doesn't warrant you to be a manager/manageress. I was so disgusted that when I got to work I told my client that is a Pharmacist in The Waterfront and my friend that work abroad and has his own workshop and that is the road captain of a very well known bike club and whose brother is the chair. They won't be shopping their either. And they will definitely spread the word. Coz one thing we don't like and agree to as bikers of a fraternity, don't victimize or bully people just to make yourself feel better.

I don't care who you are, be glad I reserved my comments and kept my composure in the store.

I enjoyed shopping there on a Sunday morning with my daughter. But if this is the *********** people you leave to run departments then I would rather drive the extra distance to Montague Gardens. I myself also live in Sunningdale, I also started out with nothing. I was also brought up in the Cape Flats, but people must learn that you need to leave your bad ways at home and come to work with a professional attitude and manner.

Nonetheless, I just felt the need to voice what might make another customer lose their stuff completely. Train your staff properly, and put suitable people in the respective posts.
