Unsatisfied with Build it.

I'm highly disappointed with the service I received from Build it stores in Pretoria, church street. I bought a geyser from them I think in 2019/2020, it's now leaking and to my knowledge, it has a 5 year warranty. Unfortunately I have lost my receipt but requested that they please punch in the serial nr of that geyser on their system and maybe it might show when that unit was sold, unfortunately they refused and I was told "it doesn't work like that" I then contacted the geyser company "FRANKE" who then told me that the geyser was manufactured in 2014 and its warranty expired in 2019, which is surprising because I bought it around that time so I know it's still under warranty.

What does this now mean for me? This is honestly unacceptable. I won't purchase another geyser knowing full well that it's still under warranty.

Hi Banoshi, We received your complaint thanks and will escalate this matter with Build it Tshwane. Please be advised that in accordance with the consumer law, it is a requirement to present the proof of purchase with return of goods. The date of purchase is in question and must give evidence of the date the geyser was purchased in order for the warranty to be applicable. I will email you communication from the store.
