I still feel humiliated
On the 21st of December i was at Mtuba build it store as an account holder to purchase some building material. While I was paying at the counter, a man whom i didn't know came behind my back and pushed me to the counter with his body, i felt abdominal pains since i was pressed to the counter and i was 5 months pregnant, i tried to move aside and i asked him"ungilimazelani" and my facial expression showed that i did not like what he was doing, whilst I was still puzzled there, another man on a que insulted me calling me by names asking me why am i not showing a respect to the man (the one who harrassed me) he further throwed tantrums "yey wena mfazi indoda iyahlonishwa ubalekelani uma ekuthinta uth uyin nje". Everything happened right in front of the security guard and then i thought of calling the police, i took my phone switched off the flash light because i wanted to take a picture so that when i go to the police station i will show the police the pictures of these perpetrators, when i turned on my camera to take the picture of the guy who was insulting me, another guy (3rd one) shouted "we bafo iyakushutha lentombazane" that's when this guy started to fight with me pushing me, twisting my hand trying to take my phone and break it down, he even broke my manicure nails, tored my slip i got from the till, swearing at me with all the words you may think of. One of ladies working in store came in between us but he couldn't stop i dialled my sister's number so that she could come and rescue me but i couldn't speak because we were fighting with the guy wanting to take my phone, he threatened that i will not get out of the store door without giving him my phone so that he can check for the pictures, i ended up giving him my phone he checked and couldn't find his pictures but he continued to swear at me. The whole staff and customer's was at the floor looking at this movie/drama, the security came and said "wena sisi xolisa kulobhuti ukuth umshuthile ngoba vele uwrong" and i was amazed because i was harrassed right in front of him but he never intervene and worst i am a woman, attacked by 3 men in front of him, i even asked him why you kept quiet whilst i was harrassed and insulted right under your nose you never cared to assist but i am the customer he said" uyangbhedela kant! Akwona umsebenz wam lowo". The security supervisor came and never said anything but he made a hand signal which i interpreted as " umbhedo kant lo". That's when i decided to call the police to come and rescue me because i was being told ukuth ngeke ngphume emnyango (i will not get out of that door) and also open the case against these guys. After the police process, i called the store manager to report the matter, on the following day i went to the store to launch the complain about the treatment i got especially from the security. The manager promised that he will take the matter to the next level and i will also be called to attend matter but to date nothing has happened. The matter took place on the 21st of December 2022 and today is the 14th of January as i am writing this report.
I still have flashbacks of what happened that day, I was all alone feeling helpless as a woman whereby all 3 men attacked me. I was emotionally damaged, embarrassed in front of the store staff as well as customer's, in nowadays people like to take videos of everything happening around them maybe i am trending in social networks.
I feel like the store didn't protect me as their customer.
