Horrible experience at Build It

I bought a door latch at M****lle Build It, it's situated near Kenton-On Sea just outside Port Alfred. Anyway I get to the office open the package take out the latch and try to replace the old latch. I then notice that the handle shaft doesn't fit in the new latch. Now note that the office door handle was fine, only the latch needed changing. So I take it back to build it and explained what the issue was. I didn't even want my money back, all I wanted was to take back the latch and just add more money to buy a complete set with new handles and a lever all in one. To break it down further, the lever was R76 and a new set with handles and everything was R150 so I had already paid the R76 and wanted to bring the lever back and pay R74 to make R150 and get a new set. Anyway long story short, I received a horrible experience from that build it, horrible. The manager asked who do I think will buy this latch? He said they won't take the latch back because it's been opened. Now how would I have known that the shaft won't fit on the latch if I hadn't opened it? Home affairs is known for a terrible service but what I experienced at Build It this morning is horrible. Home affairs ain't got nothin on Build It when it comes to bad customer service. I know it's just R76 so it's not much, never mind the money, the service yerr. In situations like this you begin to ask yourself are they doin this cause I'm black? Do they think I can't start up my own drama?
