Assault at Build a Bear

Alright, let me start with. This review is about both Toy Kingdom and Build a Bear Menlyn.

I worked at build a bear until the past friday as a temporary as they need more people over Black Friday and Christmas. Well I worked there i covered for one of the employees who came off short with float money for the till by placing my own cash into it. I covered when there was too much float and I covered when she made incorrect payments to Toy Kingdom. However, she showed up late continuously and for some or other reason the manager of build a bear menlyn had no problem with it. Unless of course it was one of the other employees.

However on friday this employee assaulted me after I had to take an urgent phone call from the many who was looking after my son after he consumed a product that he was allergic too and with the permission of one of the Toy Kingdom managers I called the nanny back and this employee was not happy and started to push her body against mine well yelling in my face and cornering me in stock room of the store. After multiple times of asking her to please leave me alone and to go away she continued. And in an attempt to put some distance between me and her so she would stop spitting in my face as she yelled at me (that’s how close she was) I extended my arm pushing her away gently by her her shoulder without causing harm and once more asking her to leave me alone. I attempted closing the door whereafter she grabbed my clothes so toughly my collar bone is bruised, she there after shoved her fist into my neck also bruising it. I acted in self defence to get her off to me and she sudden turned and tried to play victim. She left me alone for about 3 minutes whereafter she grabbed me again and after I managed to once more shove her off me she stopped. She continued to lie to ToyKingdom managers and told them I assaulted her. I attempted to play recordings that I managed to get well trying to talk to Build a bear manager and they blew it off as not being valid. During this whole time a ToyKingdom manager had to keep herself between me and this employee as she continued to verbally harass me and yell at me trying to once more grab me.

And believe it or not. No action had been taken against this employee and had she had been allowed to continue working at build a bear. I had to resign as I was not going to work in fear every single day for 8 to 9 hours.

So please, do not bring your child to a store where violence and money theft is allowed. I don’t know about you. But I wouldn’t want my child around someone who brutally assaulted someone and they still smile and pretend like nothing happened.
