Unknown billing account

I used to study through Buffalo City College. I was not happy with their service when it came to registration as they don't have a system in place to do it. Then I decided to enroll with Damelin College.

To my surprise today I received an sms from vercred that I've been handed over by Buffalo Tvet College, which they never communicated anything to me regarding the outstanding balance.

I've cancelled my registration with them as I couldn't attend the classes due to work demands.

Can someone explain to me what am I handed over for and why I was never informed of the balance. Also how do you handed over someone who cancelled the registration
