Bad booking process

I booked online when I went to pick up the car they told me I haven't had my drivers license for more than a year. Now I don't have a car to travel to work because mine went for repairs. Why is this not part of the booking process, very quick for credit card details but don't mention other important things. Wouldn't even given it a one star if there was an option. I'm really stuck now.
