Why have a car insurance when you have to do all the follow up?

I had an accident on the 4th of December 2016, contacted budget insurance to log the claim on the 5th I was not happy with how the claim was processed and everything was only done after I started shouting on the 8th of December 2016.

The car was sent for repairs on the 19th of December 2016. On the 20th I received a call from the repairs confirming that they have received the car and they will be closing for holidays reopening on the 9th of Jan 2017, the very same date (9th) I received a massage confirming that the vehicle entered the repair stage. I then called in to check how long will it take and it was an estimate of till the 31st of Jan.

Patiently I called again on the 24th of Jan and clearly highlighted that I really need the car and looking forwards to having it but that given date. The guy I spoke too said the process should be completed by the 31st.

No one contacted me till on the 2nd of Feb 2017 when I called in the guy I spoke too told me that he was going to look for my car and I just couldn't understand, he will call back within 30min to give me the progress, He never call. I then contacted Budget to my surprise they also don’t have any updates on the progress of their clients vehicle. They have to contact the panel beater to get information and then call you back, this time the panel beater is not sure how long the process will take and Budget can’t do anything about it.

It is really not fair that I have to pay insurance then be told that there’s nothing they can do. WHY do I need insurance if I will stay for a month without a car, I can do my business all meetings are on hold because I don’t have a car and the insurances can’t do anything about it?

I don’t understand why it should be my responsibility to follow-up up on the progress of repair yet I'm paying Budget.

This is very disappointing and pain full when you hear friends saying they had courtesy car even after the 30 days from other dealers while they waited for their cars.

Surely I’m out of Budget - Not impressed at all.

I would like to thank Hello Peter for the prompt respond to my complaint it was attend urgently By Louise from the Budget Team.

Finally received my car on the 28th of feb 2017.
I am happy with the final works on the vehicle, I had few complains which they handled and Helder (repairer) adviced that should I encounter any problem I may contact them (detailed info communicated on emails).

I monitored the vehicle for the past weeks and have few concerns which I communicated to Louise.

Looking fowards to hear from her.

Thank you so much :)

Regards
