UTTERLY useless customer service

I recently submitted a claim for a vehicle accident that I was involved in. After the damages were assessed, I was given a call by one Nadeem Hoosen who informed me that "they" have set the damages at round about R14 000 and that they would pay the balance of the R14 000 after deducting my excess into my bank account and I must then go and have my vehicle fixed.

Never did they provide me with a quote of assessment so that I can see what I am being charged for, nor did they refer me to a panel beater that could formally assess the damages and provide me with a quote. The representative from Budget Insurance (Nadeem Hoosen) wouldn't even tell me how they got to the figure or from which panel beater the figures were obtained. I had already obtained a preliminary quote from a reputable panel beater prior to reporting the claim and the damages per that quote was round and about R32 000. So how can Budget now expect me to pay for damages that may well exceed the R14 000 figure that they determined the damages to be? Do they now expect me to foot the bill for damages after they are the so called insurer that is responsible to refer me to a panelbeater and then pay me based on a legal, formal quote obtained in this way?

After attempting to enquire as to this fact and to get a formal quote out of Budget and after many an email and trying to get Budget to phone me back, they just ignore my every attempt.

I am disgusted with their lack of interest in their clients' matters and can't wait to change my insurance.

The issue was efficiently recitfied and addressed once I complained on Hello Peter.
I just wonder why service providers, Budget Insurance included in this specific case, force their clients to resort to forums such as Hello Peter to air their grievances in stead of just following up with the customer immediately when a complaint or issue is is brought to their attention via their contact routes to avoid complaints on this forum. Why do they have online query or call back services if they don't follow up as soon as a query is submitted.
My initial issue and complaint related to an utter lack of customer service and regard for me as a customer. Therefore, I will not change my star rating on this issue.
