Uncaring Budget Insurance - no focus on the customer

I recently joined Budget insurance and recently put in a claim after paying a debit order. I had agreed to take my car for an assessment but had forgotten. Let's be serious our lives are so inundated with work, family a myriad of emails, and text messages that it is easy to forget. A manager at Budget assured me that someone would get back to me to check that I had agreed to take my vehicle for an assessment.

After waiting for a few days I called in and was told that I had agreed to the assessment. This has now caused me to pay R10k out of my own pocket. Here is my issue with this scenario:

1. Even if I had said yes to an assessment surely a simple automated SMS or Email could have informed me that I had not done so in 48 hours. Remember I had paid a debit order and was still not fully covered so a simple courtesy message could have been sent without Budget having to employ addition staff to do this as it can be automated. Apparently, it does do this after two months.

2. Consistent with a lack of a customer-centric approach the Manager did not call me back and I had to call in to follow up.

I am very disappointed in this age of modern technology an insurer like Budget cannot send simple automated messages to assist a customer during the onboarding process.

Will be looking to take my business elsewhere soon.

Had a callback from Budget. Received nothing but a bad attitude. They cannot understand that it is quite simple to do a check whether you have had an assessment on your vehicle and to be able to send an Email or SMS to client as a courtesy reminder. They won't even have to employ additional staff for this.
Customer centricity means listening to your clients needs and adapting accordingly..............will be looking for another insurer even if their premiums are higher.
