Think Twice!!!
When you speak to a call centre agent that tells you they have repudiation targets (looking for reasons not to settle claims) to reach you know you're going to be in for a surprise the day you need to claim.

We took out COMPREHENSIVE household content insurance from budget a couple of years ago (very well prices - for a reason) and unfortunately we had an incident (oil exploded on our stove) that let to us claiming for damages caused to couch (not 10's of thousands of Rands mind you).

After a number of follow up attempts I was told the claim was not an insured peril (that by the way covers explosions as per the policy book quoted in my initial rejection letter).

I subsequently escalated the matter. I am still to receive feedback from either management or the internal dispute resolution department.

Think twice before paying that couple of Rands less every month ambiguous wording and small print may come and haunt you when you need to claim for that unfortunate incident. After all there is a repudiation target to reach.
