Dealing with budget insurance in claiming stage its a headache
Budget insurance always give me headache when it comes to claiming , January 24-25, 2024 My vehicle was ****** Midnight while I was asleep , I woke up at 06:30 the vehicle was missing called my Friend(traditional doctor) who was in the other house same compound while i immediately locked on the vehicle on the App and called tracker to report incident Then Netstar (tracking company) dispatched their team they helped looking for the vehicle they dispatched helicopter and On ground team to look (they went all out ) they stopped almost every vehicle with similarities to confirm with me .
At around 6:45-7am I went to Police Station to open a case they also dispatched their team to do ground searching aswell my case number was open number is CAS 99/1/2024 , on the 31 January 2024 case was moved to Isiphingo VCIU unit . I was called by one of the claim processor to take my statement I explained everything the same day of the incident and the following day I got a call from another male assessor asking similar questions then I rep****
Then further from there Budget kept calling every 3-5 days to tell me same story next update I'll get after 3 days when that day arrives its the similar next 3 days update story
1 February 2024 I got a call from Mr Ahmad Maharaj (He was very professional) who is a senior insurance assessor, He was on his way to the scene , He requested for directions as he was around but couldn't find the place . I gave him directions and gave him my friends number who live there they met he interviewed him and took his statement and saw the seen
He further called on the 5th to arrange meeting with me and we met on the 7th February 2024 at my apartment in umhlanga where I live he asked the very same questions he asked me then further gave me a consent form to sign to smoothen their probe I signed and handed it over again on the 28th.
He Requested for the Keys I gave him the spare and did prior explain that the other one I had during the scene was left in of of the cars(rented) I've been using past days and requested I look for them
I searched on all the cars till there was a similar one which we found but it had 3 nobs my one have 2 nobs . I then Explained that key was missed placed as I had things loose as I kept changing cars and they took too long to attend or every come collect the keys nor meeting up with me
Fast forward they called in my wife to interview her and I was told that decision on my claim will be made on Friday, March 8, 2024. The assesor also mentioned that the delay is due to difficulty in reaching the investigating officer at the SAPS.
Subsequently, on Friday, I was informed that the claim decision would be made on Monday 11 March 2024 However, on Monday, you mentioned that the docket is missing. I went out my way trying to see if i can further get any assistance so that insurance may be assisted.
I recall that during our meeting, Mr Maharaj mentioned using a note/form (Consent letter) to gain access to the SAPS case later I'm told the docket is missing
Considering the time that has passed since the incident occurred and since I filed the claim, I would expect that the required report would have been obtained by now, given that it has been 52 days since January 25th.
It is disheartening to find myself suffering the consequences of the state's negligence further more going through so much, it's Alsways postponed while I have had to consistently make provision for car installments and insurance, and on top of that, I have had to arrange for vehicle rentals while the status of my claim remains unclear. This has become an increasing burden.
I've trusted Budget with half my asset even my commercial rental property with 18 units and 3 cars but I'm mistreated
The company caused so much stress over above the tremor and heartache of loosing my daily running car
I've sent emails explaining how much this thing is costing me I believe I've provided every single thing they needed I've given consent to access almost my entire life but still 52 days later I'm paying R14200 and R3000 insurance per month while have to pay for rental cars its really devastating And really need the matter settled
