NO UPDATES - THEN WRITES OFF
<p>I’ve never been with an *********** insurance ever, their service is very BAD,POOR and a DISGRACE.</p> <p> </p> <p>I had bumped by a third party on my rare right side back, and it was third party’s fault as he did not obey the road sign (stop sign) but I was treated like I was at fault. We reported the incident same day which was Friday night (22.30) as advised by budget consultant ‘Mbongeni’ who was helpful to call budget with a case number as soon as we have it of which was done. The following day Budget never called to do a follow up or give an update we had to call them and were told by additional access fee that were never addressed when joining. No call or should I say update received on Tuesday, then Wednesday we called to do a follow up. Whereby we had to call four times then were advised that my car is WRITTEN OFF because it’s going cost them more money to repair the car. Then I requested a quote and still had to wait hours and almost the whole day whilst keep calling a million times. They serious lack communication s****s and they always promise to call you back with updates. Then receive a quote that reads R113 856.47 INC.VAT and be advised that the repair cost is higher than the retail price of the covered car. I find the quote ridiculous and their reason unacceptable. As the damage on my car was just the right rear back side. I see this as an excuse for them not to repair the car.</p> <p> </p> <p>I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND BUDGET TO ANY OF MY PAIRS’FAMILY OR COLLEAGUES.</p>

Thanks for understanding where I’m coming from,
· LEGAL DEPARTMENT AND ADDITIONAL ACCESS FESS: The other driver admitted liability and we were advised not to contact him, Budget Legal department will do that and chances of them recovering the monies from third party are very slim which I feel is not convincing let alone promising. In all this we feel we left with all the responsibility and burden or our car being WRITTEN OFF and will receive a pay-out less access fee, and keeping mind that there’ll be additional access fee that were never stated by Budget sales consultant (Eulenda Makgobatlou) . Adding on the access fee point my husband has an email whereby he was email the sales consultant enquiring about the access fee and on the email she emphasised a flat rate access fee of R5250 and we have that email as proof.
· CLAIMS DEPARTMENT: They never give concrete information regarding the claim they always say estimation/assumptions which are all not the same, regarding the assessor and quote the above mentioned consultant advised that after the assessor has finalised the quote we will immediately receive a copy too on which we DID NOT. We had to request one and call time and time again, I even requested the Assessor’s (NICOLAAS BOTES )details so that I can request it directly as the constantly said it not loaded as yet on their system. Then I was informed the assessor/engineer that the car is a WRITE OFF and he has uploaded the report on the system long time ago. The car only has a damaged bumper and rear right side. The damage doesn't look that bad to require such a high price to repair (I stand to be corrected though) .
· WRITTEN OFF AND PAY OUT: We don't want the car to be written off, as it's still usable and the damage is not that extreme. It’s not like the engine has timed out, damaged or is a front smash. I’m even surprised the back smash car can be WRITTEN OFF. We really like the car. We don't have a lot of money for a new car, and assuming that the PAY OUT will not even be enough to afford a similar car. The assessor reckons it will cost more than the car value to have it repaired. We are not sure if this is the case, as the damage doesn't look bad at all. We don't want the car being written off, so what we are wanting to know is are we able to go and get some quotes from garages to repair it? We feel we shouldn't be out of pocket, as all we want to do is repair the car to be in the same condition as before the accident.
