Horrible service on claim of fridge
We logged a claim on the 6th of March 2022 regarding our fridge that is broken. We were told that an assessor will come out within three days to have a look at the fridge. It is now the 22nd of March and we are still waiting for the assessor. He again called and cancelled after saying they will come out today. Now the next date that they can come out is only the 24th of March. Which means by then we have been without a fridge for 3 weeks! I am sure a fridge is part of an essential item to have? How can a claim be dragging on like this? This is totally unacceptable. We have had people who's fridge broke while on holiday within a week they could get a new fridge and they were reimbursed for the food that was in the fridge. We have never claimed anything on our household insurance which we have now for more than 5 years and this is the extent of service we are getting? If this does not get sorted out by the end of this week we will be moving our insurance to a more competent insurance company.

Thank you for contacting us on Monday with regards to settling the claim. However I am still not happy with the fact that a R3 600 excess are being deducted from the value of replacing the fridge. Under normal circumstances where this claim was dealt with the necessary urgency and professionalism and without me having to first complain before getting any form of feedback I would pay the excess, but not with us having to wait almost four weeks before being able to purchase a new fridge. What about the food that we have wasted due to not having the fridge and the inconvenience of being without the fridge for almost a month? This is surely an essential item and I cannot see how it can be acceptable to have the replacement of the fridge drag on for so long. Please reconsider the necessity for the excess to be taken off this as this is almost equivalent to our loss on our perishables due to the fridge being broken.
