Double debit
On 13 December 2018, I contacted Budget Insurance to change me debit order from the 15th to 26th. I understood that it was to late for my December premium to be changed and that it would remain the 15th.The consultant informed me that my January premium of R1124 will be deducted on 26 January. However, in January I was double debited. I contacted the call center and spoke to Wesley. Wesley explained to me that an sms was sent to clients informing them that they have the option of paying for 2 months in January. I informed Wesley that I never received this sms and did not consent to the debit order. Wesley told me that he would refund the money however I was not happy that this could take up to 3 weeks. I was told to send a copy of my bank statement in order for the refund to be processed immediately. After doing so, I received no further correspondence from Wesley. On 31 January, I followed up on the refund and was informed by a rather confused Wesley that my debit order was for Feb as I was paying in advance. This has never been the case with my premiums and was not explained to me when I changed my debit order. I requested to speak to a manager but was informed that he was busy and will contact me. To date I received no feedback.
