Do not believe what u see and hear

I have never believed in taking out insurance but unfortunately had to when bying a new vehicle. I opted to go for Budget insurance because of the adverti*****ts you see and hear on tv and radio as well as the fact that the premiums suited my pocket.

Well to my surprize i was the unfortunate one that was involved in an accident for the first time in over 23 years and had to claim to rectify the damage. I went for an assesment and was asked by the assesor if the vehicle is still under warrantee. When i answered him no i was informed that budget had the right to use "alternative " parts to fix my car. Upon phoning the customer service dept i was informed by the supervisor that it was stated so in their terms and conditions. I jave looked at the terms and conditions and found nothing. I then registered a dispute about 4 weeks ago and received a e-mail that they received my dispute and will be in contact. Two weeks ago i phoned the customer service dept to find out what is the hold up with everything because no one has contacted me yet. They put me on hold for about 20 min and i was eventually cut off. I phoned back to speak to the same consultant immediately and was informed that he was busy. I requested that he phone me back. I am still waiting. I want to know how the damage can be assesed at R13000 plus if all the original replacement parts cost over R11000. Where is the paint and labour cost. Then they want to settle by paying me out only R8000 after deducting my excess. I do not pay my premiums with "alternative" currency but hard earned cash and therefore expect the same original parts to be used on my vechile. Why must my vehicle be treated differently because it is out of warrantee by the manufacturer. That is an agreemnet between the owner and VW South Africa and has absolutly nothing to do with the insurance company. At this stage i am not happy with any of their repair shops they want to send me too, to have my car repaired as i do not trust them. I have gone to an alternative auto repair shop that is not part of their service agreement and received a quote frome them where the the cost is just over R12000 after my excess was deducted because of the geniune parts being used.

A week after submitting my claim i received a questionaire to be completed about their service that was received. I did not complete it immediately as my issues was not resolved. About a week ago i submitted that survey with a very bad review. Not even once was i contacted by their client services in that regard to find out why i was unhappy. So yes that just a way of making clients think their feedback is important.

This is not acceptable and at this stage i cannot even complain about the service of this company because there is no service.

Update:

As discussed with our Customer Relation Specialist who contacted you, the reason as to why second hand/alternative parts were quoted for is because your vehicle is not a new vehicle. Having said that, we will arrange for our assessor to be in contact with you to discuss the matter further.

With regards to the service failures you are referring to, we will investigate any/all service failures and address it on an internal basis.

Kind Regards,
The Budget Insurance Team.
