Dispute claim
I was involved in a car accident on the 7th of September 2024 while driving a BMW 3 Series. The vehicle is insured with Budget Insurance under a comprehensive cover policy. After the accident, the car was taken for repairs. Several weeks later, the panel beaters informed me that the car was ready for collection. However, upon arrival, i discovered that although the body repairs were completed, the car was not drivable.
I reported this to the insurance company, and they took the car for a mechanical assessment. The assessment revealed turbo damage. The insurer is now claiming that the turbo damage is not accident-related and therefore they will not cover the repair. They have been delaying the matter and sending me back and forth without resolution.
The insurance company is now insisting that I must provide proof that the vehicle was drivable before the accident, despite the fact that the car was on the road and fully operational at the time of the collision.
