Delayed repairs
I had an accident on 25/12/2017 and reported the matter to Budget insurance . They assesed the vehicle on 08/01/2018 and the claim was approved on 11/01/2018. After the repairs were allocated to DAL pannelbeaters in Groblersdaal and I was then instructed to deposit half of the excess which I did on the 13/01/2018.To my surprise without consulting with me they took my vehicle to be repaired about 180 km from where I stay. I didn't complain about that because I thought the pannelbeater was the best only to find out later that actually they are just like backyard mechanics. I never heard anything from either the pannelbeater or insurance. On 31/01/2018 I called the insurance to find out about the progress on the vehicle and I was told that I was going to get the vehicle on 09/02/2018. On 07/02/2018 I called to confirm the time I was supposed to be at the pannelbeater for collection only to be told that they are expecting parts to arrive on Friday which is the same day I was expecting my car. I then started talking to the part sourcer who promised to have the issue sorted out before close of business on Thursday which I got no feedback. On Friday I spoke to the assessor who promised to give me a reasonable feedback which he never did and when I called again he didn't answer but sent me an sms saying the pannelbeater was expecting parts to arrive on Monday. Then today (12/02/2018) I called again and later was told that the car will be ready by Friday. Budget has been very soft towards the pannelbeater and the pannelbeater proved to be very unprofessional.
