my car was assessed by the Bellville south assessment centre. I received a quote of 14000 and was given the option to take a cash payout. I received my car back after a week. When my mechanic looked at the car he immediately noticed that the gasket was blown. This was not indicated on the assessment centres quote which means they did not do a proper assessment of the vehicle. When I contacted the claims department, a lady basically told me that it is now my problem as I opted to take the cash payout option. My dispute is that the cost for the gasket was not included in the assessment and if a proper assessment was done they would've immediately picked up that the gasket has blown.
