Data shared by Budget Insurance.

In April 2023, my wife was contact by another company (Unknown name), advising us that they provide service plans on behalf of budget Insurance. The plan was good and seeing that Budget was responsible for our car insurance this would make sense. No policy documents were sent to us and upon investigating this deal, we found that debit orders under the name Vehaint for the value of R311 had gone off. With this in mind, we done further investigations and called budget to get some details, they confirmed they dont have any relations with service plans. This was alarming and we decided to further investigate, "Vehaint" is linked to ****mers. what concerns me is that they had all our information, banking details etc. This would mean that budget shares our details with subsidery companies in order to generate alternate revenue streams. Firstly, BUDGET, why are you giving other companies access to our banking details. Secondly, stop selling data to other to generate more revenue. Lastly, as part of Consumer act our data should be protected by Insurers who we trust. I will be cancelling my current policy with Budget and reversed my debits for the Service plan.
