Comprehensive Car Insurance cancelled without my knowledge

I'm very disappointed on the experience that I had with Budget insurance, I joined the insurance on the 23rd and my car was delivered on the 25th and the debit order went through same day for pro-rata and once off payment fee and my next debt order was due on the 15th September and the debit order did not go through so today being the 18th September I called to inquire and I was told my insurance was cancelled by my broker on the 28th August so I called Liquid capital and they said they know nothing about that and no email was sent to them and I also did not get any e-mail on my side. Can I please get back my money as I was never insured and I was not even notified about this, imagine if something would have happened on then I would find out that I don't have insurance.
